CGEP delivers graduate engineering courses to students located across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Most courses are delivered simultaneously to students on-campus (Either in Blacksburg or Northern Virginia) and off-campus via WebEx. An up-to-date listing of the available degrees and application processes can be found through CGEP's web site. Please visit here to review the Virginia Tech Program Offerings.
Educational Leadership & Policy Studies
Our program area offers M.A., Ed.S., Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Students pursuing the M.A. or Ed.S. are typically practicing P-12 teachers seeking positions as assistant principals, principals, or supervisors. Ed.D. and Ph.D. students are typically practicing school administrators preparing for the superintendency, upper-level central office positions, or positions in university teaching and research.
Almost all of our degree students attend classes on a part-time basis. Students in the Principal Preparation (M.A./Ed.S.) Program complete a 39-credit program of study over the course of two years. Students in the doctoral program complete approximately 69 credits of research and coursework over a minimum of three years.
